Dr Jane Barton is Crowned Miss Conduct GMC 2010

STOP PRESS

Dr Niall Dickson crowns Dr Jane Barton as the New GMC Miss Conduct beauty queen for 2010. To choose his Queen this early in the year, Dr Niall Dickson does not expect any serious competition to follow in her wake(s).

Indeed, we know very little about Dr Jane Barton, her family, her childhood in Guernsey, and why, like her father and brother Professor Christopher Bulstrode, she was inspired to be a doctor. Dr Jane Barton is a bold choice and a dark horse. With trouble looming for the GMC later in the year, Dr Niall Dickson has played his joker early.

British Medicine is as faulty as the GMC. Shipman was an iconic figurehead for the NHS. Death is the quick and easy solution. But death on the NHS is no longer a cheap option. We spend as much as the rest as Europe on healthcare but less on the elderly - who are normally the most expensive part of any healthcare budget. Where is the money going? not on patients but on a bureaucracy of "Health Care Professionals" and their controllers. Save money using the Liverpool Care Pathway or the Guernsey Care Pathway.

The Barton Gal's been all over The Portsmouth News, paid-for tabloid local rag. Front page as well as inside double page-spread. Such plentiful coverage

I was astonished to learn she didn't have a "Keep Fit Doc" set of dvds to promote, or perhaps a GP Tonic Wine, coming out. That, at least, would've explained the Press Photo-opps palaver

Why all this posing for press publicity, if the woman hasn't even got merchandise to flog for ready cash? Beats me. No sense, there

Sensation is a parent of the satirist's art. Its partner is a good cook, nurturing the barbed criticisms with wit and comprehension.

I sleep for a while and then awaken to see what's in the latest firework display. Dazzled.

Yes - perhaps we should launch our own series of DVDs - where to buy syringes, how to get morphine, privately or on the NHS, how to package it so it looks like a day's work in "the Peace Corps" or at the worst, mother love gone berserk

I am so pleased that you have stated what I have thought for a long time - The Liverpool Care Pathway saves money.

It's awful, isn't it?

Yes - its cheap and cheerful well not cheerful but as long as no one complains....
Follow the Money! Shipman gave himself away, not by the deaths he engineered, but because he added a personal bequest to himself in a patients Will.

We live in a world of financial compensation and some people are just not grateful. It may be why politicians want to reduce inheritance tax. If Granny left you some money, and as long as she wasn't in pain, why would you care how she died?

what a terrible way to show dignity by killing them by back door euthanasia, to save money the tories have invested money into this lpc to make it look a nice thing, instead of investing to save the poor souls lives, who wish in most cases to stay with their loved ones, until god says your time is up not the money saving general practitioners.

for gods sake and british citizens stop the liverpool lazarus pathway.

doctors and nurses argue that a patient should be allowed to die if they wish, its already taking place with the lazarus care pathway but in most cases it goes against the patients who dont want to die, but they have no say in it they just do it as like god knows best, because they are taking gods place to save money, a patient who has an incurable illness should still be treated, what is now happening the patients are starved and poisoned to death without any knowledge of what is taking place, and it is a fact i have seen this barbaric pathway take two lives at quick notice, well 10 days of hunger, whilst pumped with morphine.

i think they should put david cameron on it and we could watch him squirm and fight for his breath, i would pay to watch his lips crack and all his organs fail its a brilliant tool if used the right way not back to front.
