It appears that not only, will there be further elections at the Royal Society of Medicine, but worse, Mr Catto, or Sir Graeme, as he is known to his friends did not win
Of course, the election was fixed. If George Bush can do it, so can Dr Parveen Kumar the new President of the Royal Society of Medicine. At this stage, all we can do is demand a recount.
We have received the following information, and we would like to apologise to anyone who may have sent a vote into the Royal Society of Medicine. It appears that all acceptable votes had been "counted", shredded, and the result declared before our campaign could get under way. This is outrageous and we are considering what steps to take to ensure democratic elections in the future. Both the BBC and ITV have been severely censored because vote fixing. Many thanks for your supportive email. Unfortunately your information is a little out of date. I did allow my name to go forward for the RSM but the Society sensibly decided to elect Parveen Kumar who takes over as President next summer... Perhaps I can rely on your support for some future venture?

Ah Liz, the vagaries of politics, it seems my vote was in vain:)
As I said, the election was fixed, they didn't want to count it. That's a Modernised Medical Democracy for you - (MMD) for short
