Swine Flu, wheezing and hypersensitivity to flour

Doctor Bloggs was not easily convinced that Swine flu existed. However two months ago her partner succumbed and hasn't been the same since. Internet searches showed the major symptom is coughing

GPs argued about how much they should be paid for vaccinating people with an untested vaccine. Dangerous work, someone might die at the end of their needle.

Doctor Bloggs change of heart comes from seeing her partner succumb to the effects of the virus. An Alfie coughed all over him on the tube six weeks ago, and Dearly Beloved hasn't been right since. His wheeze is as bad as a chain smoking coal miner with pneumoconiosis. It seems people whose immunity is compromised are most at risk, not that there was anything wrong with his immunity. However his symptoms are made worse by bread and flour

Dearly Beloved is finally recovering - as long as he avoids gluten, wheat and flour. A recent relapse was triggered by a gluten free loaf containing cornflour.

Wheeze means allergy and in Dearly Beloved's case it seems to be an allergy to bread in all its guises. And the cure - not cheap but definitely effective. A tot of brandy before he goes to bed and the better the brandy, the more soundly he sleeps.

"A dash of brandy comes in handy"

What does this mean? Swine flu seems to a virus triggering an allergic reaction to a common item of processed food. Keep healthy, exercise regularly, avoid processed food and find the cause of your wheeze. Difficult if you are young, apparently-fit, and dying on intensive care from an unrecognised, hypersensitivity reaction?

This is why Dr Tracey Bloggs has so little time for the General Medical Council. Like the Burmese Generals and the followers of Aung San Suu Kyi, the General Medical Council plays with the lives of doctors who fall foul of its duplicitous standards.

Today's picture showing suicide and deaths following GMC investigation was presented at a recent meeting to the Royal College of Psychiatrists. This mortality does not include doctors who die after their hearings have closed.

No one wants sick doctors to work, on the other hand, an episode of illness should not destroy their professional lives. The public needs protecting from the stigma and discrimination engendered by the GMC's approach to mental health.

Doctor Tracey Bloggs issued a statement denying any involvement with the recent £53m Ming Vase money laundering auction. In her statement Doctor Bloggs denied rumours that the GMC had brought charges concerning her involvement or that her registration has been suspended. In a dramatic counterclaim, Dr Tracey Bloggs said that the Ming Vase, "found in an attic" was a GMC scam to raise money for Fitness to Practice proceedings

The bill for Fitness to Practice proceeding now tops £128 million even before the Mid Staffs allegations are brought. Mid Staffs prosecutions are conservatively estimated to cost between £10 - 20 million, paid for with doctors' GMC subscriptions. As Doctor Bloggs says, "There are always plenty more where that came from."

The Law is about money. Think of it as a bonfire - only go to a lawyer when you have money to burn.

Remember the story of a lawyer and her client attacked by a bear -

The lawyer puts on his running shoes, while the client asks
"Do you think you can outrun a bear?"
the first replies "I don't have to, I only have to outrun you"

Lawyers target your money. The other side may be after your money, but your own guy has a head start and knows where you keep it. It is a battle of wits. Find a lawyer who is stupider and poorer than you, learn the law and tell them what to do. Don't let the bastards outrun you.

The nicer and kinder a professional seems, the better their bedside manner, the more finely tuned their senses are to rob you, keep you sick, unhealthy, and in the dark.

If your lawyer is brighter than you, in any area and including finance, the more he, she or it will charge you. The more intelligent they are, the more they have their own interests at heart.

It applies across the board. For example, the richer and more sensitive your doctor, the more they are inclined to keep you sick. All business men, professionals, politicians are programmed to take your money, votes, sell you surplus goods, prolong legal disputes and keep you ignorant and poor.

The more successful such individuals are, the better they are programmed to keep themselves ahead of the game. Can anyone be trusted? No - in areas that matter, make sure you know more than the professionals and use them only for technical tasks.

Choose a stupid lawyer with a bad bedside manner. That way you can keep a step ahead and be as rude as you like.

The question on everyone's lips this morning after another nail biting episode of the Apprentice is "How much did the GMC pay Alan Sugar to fire Dr Shibby Robati?"

It is well known that once you attract the attention of the GMC you are damned to hell in this life and the next. Dr Shibby cannot be redeemed. He has been tried by the GMC and found lacking ergo - there can be no chance of a second career - in any field. He is doomed to spend the rest of this life and eternity in purgatory. That he wishes to make his purgatory public is to volunteer for the stocks. The GMC is thought to have slipped the Sun a few bob to draw attention to his GMC warning - as if he could pretend not to tell!!

Doctor Bloggs thought about writing to Professor Paul Philip suggesting that he is brought before the GMC again for failing to disclose his warning himself, instead of waiting for the Sun expose of "Sugar Baddies". After all, Dr Shibby Robati must tell all future employers about his GMC warning. He cannot be picky about who he tells. Luckily the Sun took the GMC bribe and brought it to the nation's attention. A life sentence is a life sentence, it is no good pretending the GMC doesn't hate you.

Although it is a moot point whether the Professor wants the support of Doctor Bloggs and the Nasty Gnome Party.

Dr Tracey Bloggs believe that people should do the job they are paid for, not the one they want. Too many troubles of the NHS come down to cheap management. By that I don't mean financially cheap but intellectually cheap. People "leading beyond their authority", sticking their noses in where they are not needed instead of doing what they are meant to and making sure that they do what needs to be done.

Professor Steven Bolsin knows a bad doctor when he sees one. He also knows that people (including doctors) should stick to what they are good at. Too many people think that knowing how to bully people that makes them a leader and fit to be in charge.

We are accountable for what we do, all the wishing in the world won't raise the dead nor make assisting suicide any other than murder. Doctor Bloggs believes that if you want to kill someone, you should be open about it, whether it is patients or relatives and that you should come out and say "I wish you were dead". Bristol was a disgrace, but was like so much in the medical profession swept under the carpet. Bad doctors must be brought to account and just because it is accepted practice or everyone else was doing it, does not make it right.

For example, there is now a new medical carpet to sweep mistakes under. It is called "assisted suicide" or as Doctor Bloggs prefers to call it "how to murder friends and relatives". Other names include "palliative care pathway" and Britain leads the world in its the "quality of death". A sad prize for a once proud medical profession.

In Quality of death Britain leads the world. Even though we now have the worst medicine, fewer scanners and the highest mortality from cancer, we know how to sweep the evidence under the carpet. (The Metro) - as Doctor Tracey says - "In this country, unlike anywhere else in the Europe, apart from perhaps Germany and Russia, we have years of practice in getting rid of people without making a fuss about it"

It seems that "getting work done" not just de rigeur for celebrities but for also New Labour. It comes as no surprise to Doctor Bloggs that he took so little part in the election campaign, he had a bad case of loose fillings, and his face might have fallen off at at any moment

Still Brown's experience might be reassuring, just as you think it can't get any worse, you find yourself being filmed - in a radio studio.... ??? and no one buys your book, because in coalition politics - you are yesterday's news.

Doctor Tracey Bloggs apologises to all those who have been inconvenienced by her absence and in pleased to have reached the stage of being again able to say hello to the world, unfettered by any constraints on her eloquence.

She would like to begin with a tribute to a doctor whose work she has steadfastly admired since being introduced to the world of blogging and the alternative dimensions of cyberspace: Dr Rita Pal. Doctor Bloggs was pleased to know she is not alone in her admiration of Dr Rita, whose name is engraved forever on the Wall of Honour in the Royal Society of Medicine. It is a well deserved honour and tribute to see Dr Rita Pal's name amongst the great and the good of medicine, including Herr Catto himself, as well as numerous other illustrious professors.

The bidding for the service excluded existing charities working in this area and led for example, to the closure of the Doctors Support Line, an anonymous confidential service already providing support for doctors.

Doctors risk their registration by approaching the Dr Clare Gerada and the PHP because the General Medical Council considers mental health difficulties within the profession as a regulatory offence.

Many trusts and employers will not employ doctors who have been before the General Medical Council, on principle, regardless of the circumstances of their referral. This means that the problems of doctors mental health continues to be driven underground.

A doctor can be struck off for being depressed. Even if they are not struck off, they face years of investigation and "supervision" by their regulatory body that leads to a worsening of their mental health and suicide. A doctor has to have a solicitor, a barrister and a Defence Body, go before the General Medical Council to "prove themselves of sane mind" In 2003/4 5% of doctors died who were under investigation by the General Medical Council for their mental health (9 of 214). If this death rate had occurred any where else, including an Intensive Care Unit, there would be investigation. After that, the General Medical Council stopped collecting the figures

Tiger Woods, not recovering from Swine Flu

Doctor Bloggs would like to apologise for her long absence, while putting Swine Flu on her Not Fit for Anything Note.

On the other hand, Tiger Woods is not so lucky. Doctor Bloggs could not help noticing that it looked as though the poor man had collected a couple of nasty head wounds since he was last seen in public. His face also looked a bit puffy, which might have been because of the crocodile tears he cried at losing his multibillionaire dollar generating squeaky clean reputation!

On the other hand, dexamethasone causes a puffy face and is treatment for a head injury. In Doctor Bloggs' wild imagination it seems to me that Tiger Woods was struck on the left side of his head as he was getting out of his car. He may even have been sitting in the back seat! (Americans drive on the right, leaving their left side exposed!) Unfortunately, top left, where the arrow is pointing, is the part of the brain that works the arm that drives a golf ball into that little hole that has earnt him so much money.

Still, at least he's in better shape than his car, which won't drive anyone, anywhere any more.

The GMC 9 - data from the Health Review group

The GMC is finally showing concern over the number of doctors who die whilst being investigation under Fitness to Practice procedures. I had an email from the GMC requesting further information about the GMC 9. This data comes from the Health Review Group set up by the GMC to look their Health Procedures. After which everyone patted themselves on the back and did nothing

Of 212 doctors under the Health procedure in 2003/4 9 died. Nothing has changed, and if the GMC death rate is no longer available, it has no bearing on the one doctor a week who kills themselves. Improving mental health is about making people feel better, about themselves, about the world and about the future. Nothing that has happened in the 10 years since Shipman has reassured either the public or doctors.

Like Voodoo, the force of the GMC depends on the fear it produces in its victims. Its numerous vested interests range from Harley Street, NHS and Private Practice consortium, the drug company mafia, NuLabour, Trusts, scientology, freemasonry, misogyny, the Tavistock Clinic, and common purpose. Once doctors realise that the GMC is nothing more than a corrupt bureaucracy held held together by fear and greed, there is not a lot to be bothered about.

As Dr Rita Pal says, the danger lies taking the GMC seriously. They only weapon is fear, and once that is gone, you can see them for what they are. Of course, it is hard fighting an organisation as warped the GMC. Their approach to Dr Raj Mattu provides ample evidence of their corrupt and unholy alliance with the Trusts.

And if you can stand having your life pored over, your clinical work examined in painstaking detail, your character assassinated and your reputation destroyed, you can stand up to the GMC and if you can treat the twin imposters of triumph and disaster just the same, the GMC has little hold on you.

Alternatively take your knowledge and skills where it is appreciated. Defrocked doctors do well in the complementary medical fields where their medical knowledge and experience are widely appreciated and many are now making a good living, in fields as diverse as Health Practitioners, Coaches, Live blood analysts, colonic therapists, nutritionists, and psychotherapists as well as running training courses in medical studies.

Dr Niall Dickson crowns Dr Jane Barton as the New GMC Miss Conduct beauty queen for 2010. To choose his Queen this early in the year, Dr Niall Dickson does not expect any serious competition to follow in her wake(s).

Indeed, we know very little about Dr Jane Barton, her family, her childhood in Guernsey, and why, like her father and brother Professor Christopher Bulstrode, she was inspired to be a doctor. Dr Jane Barton is a bold choice and a dark horse. With trouble looming for the GMC later in the year, Dr Niall Dickson has played his joker early.

British Medicine is as faulty as the GMC. Shipman was an iconic figurehead for the NHS. Death is the quick and easy solution. But death on the NHS is no longer a cheap option. We spend as much as the rest as Europe on healthcare but less on the elderly - who are normally the most expensive part of any healthcare budget. Where is the money going? not on patients but on a bureaucracy of "Health Care Professionals" and their controllers. Save money using the Liverpool Care Pathway or the Guernsey Care Pathway.

Predeterminations - The GMC expects every panel to do its bidding

If the GMC panel's are independent of the GMC, the GMC would not have a view of the possible outcome of the case. But that comment suggests that the GMC did have a view of outcome.

We know the GMC recruits panelists, selects panelists for each case, briefs them in advance, provides advice throughout cases, audits their verdicts and pays them between £300 and £500 a day

The GMC must decide the outcome in advance of the case because an adjudicator (The Panel) should not communicate with the investigator (The GMC).

Therefore - GMC panel verdicts are predetermined!

For those who know even a little law, this goes against every principle of natural justice.

We can therefore assume that the panellists were briefed to give the verdict they did

Last year Belinda also died, on the day of her discharge from a psychiatric ward. Yes questions need to be asked about that too. Belinda, or Binks, as she was better known had spent many years being hounded by the GMC

In 2003/4, 9 of 215 doctors under investigation by the General Medical Council died. 3, at least, were suicide and known to me personally.

Binks was a compassionate, courageous, and well-loved General Practitioner, who left a wider legacy. Binks went through the GMC Health procedures and went back to work. She wrote about her experiences in “Doctors as Patients”

Through her work with the Doctors Support Network she helped other doctors going through what they also found to be degrading and destructive experience. Binks worked with the GMC to improve the way they treat doctors and help humanise that process. Binks raised funding to set up the Doctors Support Line 0870 7650001. This remains the only confidential, anonymous support line for doctors. In addition, Binks worked each year for Crisis at Christmas.

Outside medicine, Binks was a respected and popular hockey and squash player. A Junior Team Memorial Tournament has been set up in her memory. She leaves her parents, her brother and her cherished niece and nephews, Max, Stephanie and Milly.

Maj. Vanessa Lloyd-Davies (44) first British female medical officer to head the Household Cavalry, a historic regiment of the British Army commonly identified by its mounted ceremonial duties seen at events such as the Queen's Birthday Parade. Lloyd-Davies was awarded a military MBE in 1993 for her work in Bosnia, where she attended badly wounded children under mortar fire. She suffered from severe depression and committed suicide in England on February 16, 2005.
